We have options from a cut down team of 3 to a full on performance team
We can do the following with a wide range of age groups:
Introduce the traditions and stories behind the Lion Dance
Show a traditional Southern Lion Dance costume, demonstrating all the intricacies and moving parts
Run a follow-along activity to get the class actively involved in the different music parts
Get everyone joining in with an empty-handed lion dance segment - the "Happy Lion"
There are many instructions online on how to make a cardboard box lion head - if prepared beforehand these could easily be used by the class to make this physical activity even more engaging.

The UK has always been a massively multi-cultural nation, and recognising the important celebrations of our many cultures has become a staple of modern schooling, from Chinese/Lunar New Year to Diwali and Ramadan.
A Lion Dance workshop is a great physically interactive activity that can be used for many Chinese Festivals and Celebrations including Chinese/Lunar New Year, Autumn Festival (Moon/Mooncake), Lantern Festival and more.
